How we work with Opel
Opels mostly use Bosch EDC16 and EDC17 and Delphi DCM units on CDTI diesels, and Bosch ME/MED or Siemens on petrol engines. Astra G, H and J, Vectra, Zafira and Insignia are familiar platforms, and the units can usually be read via OBD.
The weak points are well known and we account for them: on the 1.4 Turbo (A14NET) we watch the timing chain and oil consumption, on the 2.0 CDTI the chain and the particulate filter. Diagnostics and a backup of the original firmware come first; after the job we check for fault codes.
