How we work with Toyota

Toyotas use Denso control units, which were long considered closed. Today many can be read through the OBD port or on the bench, while some require boot mode and soldering to contact points. This is harder than with Bosch, so it takes a technician with the right equipment and experience.

Diagnostics before any work is mandatory: on D-4D diesels (1KD, 2KD, 1AD, 2AD) we check the EGR and particulate filter, and on Land Cruiser and Hilux the fuel system. If there is no safe solution for a particular unit, we will say so right away rather than put your car at risk.
