How we work with Honda
Hondas use Keihin control units, which are considered more closed than Bosch. Some jobs go through OBD and some on the bench, while the i-DTEC diesels use Bosch units. For Civic, Accord, CR-V, Fit and JDM models imported from Japan or the US, we first identify the unit version.
A frank word about naturally aspirated engines: the power gain from a remap is more modest than on turbo engines, and we quote realistic figures before starting. For these cars the usual jobs are immobilizer removal after a unit replacement, mileage correction and emissions work. We save the original firmware before any write.
