How we work with Kia
Kia uses the same platforms as Hyundai: CRDi diesels managed by Bosch EDC17 and Delphi DCM3.7, and Kefico SIM2K units on newer models. For Ceed, Sportage, Sorento, Rio and Carnival we first identify the unit version, since it determines how we can work.
We know the platform's weak points in advance: not every version of the newer Kefico units has a safe solution, and in that case we will warn you right away. On CRDi diesels we check the EGR and particulate filter before the remap, and on GDI petrols the carbon deposits and oil. We always save the original firmware.
